George “Bobby” Lee Barker, 75, of Asheboro passed away at home on July 24, 2018. Born April 12, 1943 to the late Charlie Glenn and Laura Ann Barker, George was the middle sibling of Betty Ann and Glinda, who preceded him in death. He grew up in the Thomasville area until he joined the Army in February 1964.

He proudly serves his country until his retirement in 1986. George was a loving husband to Betty Ann Stambough Barker; father of three children, Donna Saunders, Monica McAllister and Bobby Barker; stepfather to four children, Kimbley Davis, Tina Elliott, Bennie Johnson, Jr. and Christina Johnson. He had 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

He will be missed by all. The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm Friday, July 27, 2018 in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
