George M. Dexter, 78, of Bradford, formerly of Duke Center, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 21, 1939 in Emporium, the son of the late Arthur and Gertrude Markert Dexter. He attended Eldred borough schools.

He was employed by Fairway Ford for twenty-six years until his retirement. As well as working at Fairway Ford, Mr. Dexter owned and operated his own garage in Duke Center. In addition to his wife of 57 years, Janelle Dexter of Bradford he is also survived by one son, Alan (Amy) Dexter of Bradford; three daughters, Amy (Robert) LaVeck of Gouverneur, NY, Anne (Wayne) Pessia of Cochocton, OH and Becky (Gordon) Mix of Clover, SC; one sister, Alyce Knapp of Greensboro, NC; fourteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren with another expected in April and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc. from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with a celebration of his life to immediately follow at 3:00 PM with the Rev. Wayne Pessia and the Rev. Robert LaVeck co-officiating.

Burial and committal services will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette. Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
