George Earl Stringfellow, 81, of Columbus, Georgia passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Magnolia Manor in Columbus, Georgia. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel from 1:00-3:00 pm ET. George was born May 6, 1937 in Russell County, Alabama to the late Mr. Stringfellow and Violet Irene Newsome.

He served in the United States Military in the Marine Corp and went on to work for National Linen Service. After retiring from National Linen Service, George went on to work at the Ledger-Enquirer in collections and had a business route. He also enjoyed working on cars.

Surviving are his wife, Sarah Josephine Jones, 3 daughters, Charlene Fogt (Rhine), Oarlene Moates (Ben) & Sarah Duke, son, Richard Wade (Nena), 2 brothers, Gene & Bill Stringfellow, 2 sisters, Nana Girard & Shirley Busby, grandchildren, Justin Fogt (Kelsey), Blake Fogt, Brian Rose & Madison Duke, great-grandchildren, Emma & Eli Fogt, Liam Myhand-Lunsford and numerous nieces & nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Kindred Hospice.
