Nealie Simmons Scott, 88, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully Sunday morning, November 25, 2018 at Parkwood Health Care in Phenix City, AL. Mrs. Scott was born December 10, 1929 in Crenshaw County, AL to the late Rube Simmons and Bertha Sanders Simmons. She was employed with Muscogee Manufacturing Company and was retired with many years of dedicated service.

She had served as former President of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 135. She enjoyed Saturday Gospel Sings and church fellowship. She was dedicated to her church and loved spending time with all her family.

She was a member of First Congressional Christian Church in Phenix City. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry A. Scott, Sr., son, Harry A. “Scotty”Scott, Jr., and two brothers, Malon Simmons, and Rutledge Simmons. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Jo Scott Oakes and husband Terry, daughter-in-law, Sheryl Scott, adopted son, Jed Simmons and wife Betsy, one sister, Shirley Simmons Duty, and two brothers, William Earl “Pee Wee” Simmons and wife Tina, and James Wallace Simmons and wife Margaret; (3) grandchildren, Tammy Scott Mosley (Scott), James Shawn Scott (Rachael), and Amanda Scott Brinke, (9) Great grandchildren, Madison, Davis, Ansley, Claudia, Ella, Gracie, Bennett, Conner, and Lexie, several nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and many caring friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon EST Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Pastor Matt Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
