George Edward Boatwright, 71, of Muscle Shoals, AL passed away Monday, June 18, 2018 at Helen Keller Hospital. Visitation will be Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 12-2 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Brother David Rushlow will be officiating.

Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens. George was retired from Norfolk Railroad as a Locomotive Engineer. He is preceded in death by his father, George A. Boatwright; great grandson, Jentzen Risner.

He is survived by his mother, Beatrice Aycock Boatwright; daughters, Kelli Chrisman and Kristi Phillips (Rusty); sisters, Theresa Boatwright Smith (Byron); grandchildren, Lauren Risner (Andrew), Chase Kent, and Hayden Chrisman; great grandson, Isaac Risner; nephew, Josh Smith; niece, Lori Smith. Pallbearers will be Rusty Phillips, Josh Smith, Chase Kent, Hayden Chrisman, Jeff Biffle, and Steve Boatwright. Thank you to Dr. John Bartmess and staff; Kindred Home Health, Robin Vanhorn and Christy Hubbert, and a special thank you to Jeff Biffle for going above and beyond helping dad.

Shoals Hospice staff and a special thank you to the Dream Team for making dad smile. Rusty Phillips for being so good to dad over the last six years and especially over the last year and half while dad lived with us. You are an amazing man, husband, and caregiver.

Thank you for all that you did for him.
