George F O Connor Jr , November 14, 1926 — November 02, 2018

On November 2, 2018, George F. O’Connor, Jr., loving husband of the late Katherine S. O’Connor, and father of six passed away at the age of 91. George was born in Waterbury, CT on November 14, 1926, the son of George F. O’Connor, Sr. and Marion (Doolan) O’Connor. He served his country in the Navy in WWII aboard the USS APA Chilton and saw action at the Battle of Okinawa.

George was very involved with the community including working with the JCC’s, as a member of Rotary Club, serving as the Town Constable and helping Kay get elected to the Board of Education. He was also active with the Stratford Library Board and the Union Cemetery Association. George is predeceased by his late wife Katherine, his brother Robert, his sons John T. O’Connor and Raymond J. O’Connor and his daughter, Katherine D. O’Connor.

George is survived by his daughter Emily O’Connor Karolyi and her former husband Sandor Karolyi, his son George F. (Jeff) O’Connor and his wife Amy, his son James A. O’Connor and his wife Daria, and his daughter-in-law Carolyn Mugar. Additionally, George is survived by his grandchildren Mary O’Connor and her husband David Abram, Alexandra Karolyi, Katalin Karolyi, Emmie Karolyi, Kaitlin O’Connor and her fiancé Mark Kaliris, James O’Connor, Jr., and Chloe Schweinshaut and her husband Kyle Schweinshaut; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 10 am DIRECTLY at Our Lady of Peace Church with a Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Rev.

Nicholas Pavia. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 6 pm at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford.
