George J. Queen, age 75, of Mt Chestnut, passed away Sunday afternoon, October 28, 2018, at the Saxony Health Center, following a long illness. Born September 12, 1943 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Loretta Hart Queen. A 1961 graduate of Mars Area High School, George took a job as an over the road truck driver for American Hardware.

After coming off the road, he went to work at the former Armco, now AK Steel, where he retired as a millwright in the Processing Maintenance department. George was a member of the North-South Skirmish Association, Moraine Conservation and Sportsmen’s Association, and the Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club. He was an avid shooter and skirmisher, once setting a record high score for 25 yard black powder revolver shooting.

He is survived by his daughter Sharon (Robert) Myers of Monongahela, his longtime companion Donna, his brother Robert (Delores) Queen of Poughkeepsie, NY, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Diane Scullion Petrulis Queen.
