Obituary for George J. Venus Jr. George J. Venus Jr., age 84, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 in his home in West Bend surrounded by his family. He was born on February 1, 1934 in Milwaukee, WI to George Sr. and Margaret (nee Peak) Venus. He was a man that loved to tell jokes and laughed the hardest at his own jokes.

George was a man of integrity and a devout Catholic. He loved his family, his grandchildren dearly and his great-grandchildren were special to him. Up north was special and he was peaceful there.

Loved hunting, fishing and used to snowmobile. George is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Nancy (nee Nielsen); children, Larry (Jackie), Tom (Mary), Jeff (Kelly), Rick (Dianna), Jackie (Calvin) Mages; daughter-in-law, Linda Venus; grandchildren, Sarah (Irv) Hoff, Anthony (Tammy) Venus, Tracy (Ryan) Halter, Danielle Venus, Tiffany (Andrew) Gullickson, Troy (Brittany) Venus, Jessica Venus, Tim (Emily) Venus, Alex Mages, Cole Venus, Noah Mages and 7 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

George is preceded in death by his parents, his parents-in-law Lawrence (Jean) Nielsen and his son Michael. Visitation will be Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095) from 5:00PM until 7:00PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00AM on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Holy Angels Catholic Church (138 N. 8th Ave.

West Bend, WI 53095). Private Interment at a later date at Holy Angels Cemetery. A special thank you to the staff of Horizon Homecare and Hospice.
