Obituary for George Sessamen George Lynn Sessamen, 69, of Tyrone died Wednesday October 10, 2018 at his residence. He was born December 28, 1948 in Philipsburg, a son of the late Scott Winfield and Erma Jean (Cowher) Sessamen. On March 7, 1970 in Bald Eagle he married Peggy Jo Otto.

Surviving are his wife, a son Scott William and wife Teri of Tyrone, six grandchildren; Samantha, William, Scott and Steven Sessamen, Rayann and Marlyna Borman and two brothers Edwin of Bellwod and Robert of Tyrone. He was preceded in death by a daughter Gina Sessamen. Mr. Sessamen retired in 2004 from the Tyrone Police Department as Chief of Police following 28 years service.

He was previously employed at Penn State as a boilerman for seven years. He was a member of Tyrone Sportsmans Club, Pennsylvania and American Rabbit Association, Logan Valley Broncs and was a board member of the Williamsburg Farm Show. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of Vietnam serving on the USS Sterett and had attained Navy Plankowner privileges and was a member of Navy Shellback.

George enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and grandchildren, horses and animals, working on his cars and raising rabbits. Funeral services will be held Monday October 15, 2018 at 11 A.M. at Feller Memorial Home. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 P.M. The Tyrone Honor with accord veterans honors for the service.

Following the service lunch will be provided at the Tyrone American Legion. Memorial gifts may be made to 4H Endowment Fund, 310 Airport Road, Martinsburg, Pa. 16622.
