George’s Obituary George Norris Cocanougher, 79, of Harrodsburg, husband of 59 years to Patsy J. (Devine) Cocanougher, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019 in Harrodsburg, KY. Born March 5, 1940 in Washington County, KY, George was the son of the late Robert Logan Cocanougher and Edna Ray (Logsdon) Cocanougher. George was a former Computer Programmer and System Analyst with a company he co-owned Universal Data Systems.

A 1958 graduate of Springfield High School, George was a member of Fox Creek Christian Church where he formerly served as Deacon, Elder, and Treasurer for 10 years. He enjoyed farming, University of Kentucky sports, and was a Kentucky Colonel. Including his wife, George is survived by three children, Edna “Renee” Cocanougher (Julie) of Lexington, Robin Rochelle Potts (Mark) of Coeur D’Alene, Idaho, and George Norris “Scooter” Cocanougher II (Teresa) of Harrodsburg; 7 grandchildren, Amy Powers Bailey, Brett Travis Powers, Amanda McCarley (Tyler), Jacob Potts, Derek Cocanougher, Jordan Montgomery (Cassie), and Levi Chase Cocanougher; 6 great grandchildren, Aly, Toby and Ethan McCarley, Aiden McDonald, Caroline Bailey, and M’Kennan Cocanougher; and his brother, Donnie Lynn Cocanougher of Lebanon.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 27th from 5 – 8 PM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home and from 11 – 1 Tuesday at the Willisburg Christian Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 28th beginning at 1:00 at the Willisburg Christian Church, 2681 Lawrenceburg Rd. , Willisburg, KY.

Don Wells and Mark Wells will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Willisburg, KY. Serving as pallbearers will be Bob Holt, Jay Holt, Brad Durr, Donnie Campbell, Steve Devine, and Billy Lay.

Honorary bearers will be the deacons and elders of Fox Creek Christian Church. Memorials are suggested to the Fox Creek Christian Church, PO Box 32, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342 or St. Jude Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
