OBITUARY George Raymond Viger May 30, 1934 – November 6, 2018 George Raymond Viger, 84, began a new journey on November 6, 2018 with his family by his side. He was the oldest of nine children born to George and Aldine Richards Viger on May 30, 1934. He was married on November 11, 1953 to the late Lucille Vachon who began her new journey on November 11, 1978 on their 25th wedding anniversary.

He later married Shirley Sanborn on February 13, 1999 who survives in Rumford. George was loved by many and involved in many things to be with his children. He ran the skating rink in Virginia for many years and made many friends.

He umpired many baseball games and would whisper in one’s ear to be sure not to call him “Dad” or “Uncle” – lol. The last whistle blown at the State football game was in his honor. George put many smiles and lots of love in many hearts with his tributes on Facebook as he had many followers.

Memories are forever Dad! ! – “Eat your desert first cause you may not have room for it after you eat your meal”!

Surviving are his two daughters, Rose Marie Woods and husband Timothy of Mexico, ME, Pamela Bentley and companion Jeffrey Williams of Mexico, ME and one son (his best friend) Gregory and wife, Barbara of Mexico, ME. Step-children Linda Frith, Melody Coulombe, Lisa and Michelle Sanborn, and Rick Hebert. Four sisters Gloria Barnett, Penny Gotto, Nancy Norris and Geri Viger.

George leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. George is predeceased by his parents, brothers, Bernard (Smokey), Norman, Wilfred (Billy) and sister, Marie Kelley, his son-in-laws, Billy Bentley and Vito Coulombe, step-son Bruce Hebert, and grandson Daniel Woods. In lieu of flowers please send donations in George’s memory to the Hope Association 85 Lincoln Avenue Rumford, ME 04276.
