George Franklin Tucker, age 82 of Cedar Hill, Tennessee, died Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at the Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Memorial services will be held at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View, Saturday, May 18th, at 3:00PM with Dr. Larry Robertson and Bro. Marvin Buchholz officiating.

The family will receive friends at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View, Saturday, May 18th, from 1:00PM until the hour of service at 3:00PM. Mr. Tucker was born on December 7, 1936 in Christiana, Tennessee to the late Emory and Madie Jones Tucker. George was a 1956 graduate from Castle Heights Military Academy where he served as president of his senior class.

He was a school teacher in the Sumner County school system for 27 years and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was retired from the United States Postal Service and was a member of the Hilldale Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler Tucker; and brothers, Tommy and Burney Tucker.

Mr. Tucker is survived by his wife, Janet Tucker; sons, Steve (Tracy) Tucker and Gary (Alyce) Tucker; daughter, Leeanne (Donnie) Lee; grandchildren, Stephanie (Robert), Megan, Gabrielle (Joshua), Caleb, and Adam; and 4 great-grandchildren. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Alive Hospice and may be sent in care of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View.
