George’s Obituary George W. Schultz was born to the union of Walter Choate and Annie L. (Randle) Choate on September 20, 1936 in Cairo, IL. He was a graduate of Love Joy High School in Mound City, IL. After graduation at the age of 17 George Joined the United States Army, He served two tours in Vietnam, received the rank of Staff SGT and was Honorably discharged from the United States Army after 20 years of Service.

He married Marlene Brooker on February 17, 1974 in Mound City, IL. She preceded him in death. George also worked 10 years at Burkhart Foam Manufacturing Company in Cairo, IL.

George departed this life on February 4, 2019 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was preceded in death his parents, His Wife Marlene J. Schultz, daughter Karon Brooker, brother Calvin Choate and one sister Frances Jones. He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Marlene J. Schultz, Elida Phifer-Hunter, Son Eric G. Harley, God son Orlando Mathews, brothers, Nathaniel Choate, Sylvester Choate, sisters, Ruthie Lee McBride, Erma Perry six grandchildren: Simeon (Kim) Williams, Jade (Jeff) Davis, Eric (Allison) Harley, Jr. Shayla Brooker, Areana Harley and Jeremiah Schultz and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
