OBITUARY George William Ward November 1, 1954 – September 20, 2018 George William Ward, 63, of Lynchburg, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at his residence. He was the husband of Diana Ward. Born on November 1, 1954, in Lebanon, he was the son of the late John Edward Ward and the late Clarice Virginia Campbell Helton.

George worked at Tri-Tech and enjoyed collecting scrap metal, hanging out at dance halls, and picking on his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Charlie Ward. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Doug Ward (Kim), Stephen Ward (Heather), Markus Ward (Jennifer), and Jason Ward (Cynthia); his daughter, Samantha Ward; siblings, Edna Stanley (Christopher), David Campbell, Patricia Ward, John Ward, Joe Ward, Diane Ward, Margaret Ward, Joyce Ward, and Tom Helton; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at his son’s Doug residence. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Cumbie Cemetery in Rustburg. Whitten Timberlake Chapel is assisting the Ward family (239-0331).
