Georgia “Georgie” Lee (May) Roy, 63, of Red Lake, Minnesota began her journey home on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND. She was born on April 26, 1955 in Red Lake, MN, one of 13 children born to Margaret (Sumner) and Phillip May, Sr. Georgia married Henry “Hank” Sayers, Sr. on July 8th of 1972 and together they had five children. They later divorced.

She worked at the Red Lake Casino from July 1986 to July 2005 and during that time she married Bruce Roy. Georgia was currently working as a Para at the Early Childhood Center. She enjoyed going to the casino and playing her Sunday Bingo.

Georgia cherished being with all her grandchildren and watching them play sports. She will be missed by all who knew her. Family that Georgia is reunited with are her parents; Margaret and Phillip May, Sr., brothers; Ned, Peter and Clement May, grandson; Baby Hank, uncles; Dumpy and John Sumner, niece; Marilayne May and her grandparents.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her husband; Bruce Roy of Red Lake, sons; Henry (Brooke) Sayers, Jr., Phillip (Darcy) Sayers, Sr. and Thomas Sayers, Sr. all of Red Lake, daughters; Eileen (Will) Sayers and Merri Jo (Jon) Sayers both of Red Lake, brothers; Gerald Sr., Phillip Jr., Tom Sr. and Darrell May, Sr., sisters; Ramona, Vickie, Melvina and Carla May and Elgene Lasley, special grandson; Jerricho Redeagle, 21 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A wake for Georgia will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 9th and continue until her funeral services at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 11th all to be held at the New Little Rock Community Center in Red Lake, MN. Father Jerry Rogers will officiate.

Helping to lay Georgia to rest are Phillip Sayers, Jr., Thomas Sayers, Kenneth Skinaway, Clem May, Delbert Lasley, Jr., Clinton May, Jeremy May and Jerricho Redeagle. Alternate pallbearers are Dan Lasley, Will Morrison and Mick May. Her honorary pallbearers are Andrea LaDuke, Shirley Anderson, Kathy Jourdain, Brenda Sayers, Lorraine Sayers, Gloria Skinaway, Brooke DeFoe, Nicole Engelby, Sierra Stillday, Bobbie Jean Barrett, Sharon Wickstrom, Flora Jones, Rita Wiese, Sherri May, Darcy Sayers, Alfreda Sayers and all her co-workers at the Early Childhood Center.

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery following services. Georgia’s care has been entrusted to Northern Peace Funeral Home of Walker. Online condolences for the family may be left at www.
