Obituary for Gerald A. Hoene Gerald “Jerry” A. Hoene, 79, of Quincy, WA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2018, with his loving wife by his side holding his hand until the end. Jerry was born May 8, 1939, in Seattle, WA, to Phillip and Veta (Porter) Hoene. Jerry spent much of his childhood in Yakima and then the family settled on Vashon Island where he met the love of his life in the 8th grade.

He graduated from Vashon High School in 1958 where he excelled at high school sports and music. After he graduated he went on to serve in the U.S. Coast Guard. He married his childhood sweetheart Eileen in 1959 and eventually settled in Federal Way, Washington.

Jerry retired from Boeing and relocated part time in Crescent Bar and part time in Thousand Palms, CA, where he thoroughly enjoyed his Boston Terrier Bogey, golf, karaoke, and most of all, his family and friends. Jerry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eileen (Willsie) Hoene, 2 sons, Mark (Flavia) Hoene, Brent (Lori) Hoene, 2 daughters, Stacy Ovendale, and Jennifer (Pat) Buckholz, 8 grandchildren, Zach (Gwen) Hoene, Luke Hoene, Beau (Norelle) Sundberg, Crystal (Sean) Sundberg, Tyler Hoene, Chloe Ovendale, Jake (Tracy) Buckholz, Rylie (Clark) Colvin, and 6 great-grandchildren, Saesha, Vivian, Capone, Nina, Benny and Augie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Veta Hoene, and his brother Raymond Hoene.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 6, 2018 @ 1:00 p.m. at the Crescent Bar North Park Activity Center, 8818 Crescent Bar Road, Quincy, WA, 98848. A private family memorial will be held next spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made In Memory of Jerry Hoene to JDRF at www.
