Gerald Joseph Donnelly, 83, of Andover, Ohio, formerly of Espyville, passed away on December 25, 2018, at Geauga Medical Center in Chardon, Ohio. Born November 19, 1935, in Spangler, he was the son of William and Clara Wieland Donnelly. He married Alice Mae Cheatham in Chardon, Ohio in 1992.

He graduated from Northern Cambria High School. Gerald served our country in the United States Army from 1955 until 1957. He then served in the U.S. Reserves from 1957 until 1963.

After 30 years, Gerald retired from the Fisher Body Division of General Motors in Cleveland. He loved distance running and ran many races in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Gerald was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed camping and boating.

He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. Survivors include his wife, Alice Mae Donnelly and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Charles, Robert, and Blair Donnelly, and sister, Zelda McCall.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at St. Patrick Cemetery in Spangler (Northern Cambria), Pennsylvania. Please share a condolence or memory of Gerald for the family at royalcolemanfuneralhome.com.
