Morrissey, 88, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019, at St. Joseph’s Senior Home in Woodbridge, New Jersey. Ms. Morrissey was born in Bayside, NY, and lived in Carteret, New Jersey, for 20 years and Avenel for the past 41 years. Geraldine was a Quality Control Inspector for Sydmak Corporation in East Hanover for many years retiring in 1994.

Prior to that she worked for Purepak Corporation in Elizabeth. She was a communicant of St. James RC Church in Woodbridge. She was volunteer at the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in New London, CT.

Geraldine loved planting and tending her vegetable garden in the summer. Geraldine loved to travel. She loved cruises.

Some of her favorite times were spent on Mad Money and with her friends on I Dock. Geraldine enjoyed cooking especially her Irish soda bread. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is predeceased by her father and mother, William J. and Mary (nee Noland) Morrissey and her brother Raymond Morrissey. She is survived by four daughters Patricia A. Todd of New London, CT, Geraldine Toale of Atlanta, GA, Janice and her husband John Foglia of Dunnellon, FL and Eileen and her husband John Marini of Avenel, NJ, seven grandchildren, Katie, Andrew, Patrick, Kelly, Russel, Jason and Richard. She is also survived by nine great grand children, Simon, John, Christian, Madi, Jessica, Jackson, Finley, Seth and Nathaniel.

Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, May 25, 2019, 10:00 am from the Lehrer-Gibilisco Funeral Home, 275 West Milton Avenue, Rahway, NJ 07065 followed by a 10:30 funeral mass at St. James RC Church, 369 Amboy Avenue, Woodbridge, NJ 07095. Interment Calvary Cemetery, 49-02 Laurel Hill Blvd, Woodside, NY 11377. Visitation also on Saturday from 8:30 -10:00 am at the funeral home.
