Obituary for Geraldine “Dobby” Josselyn Geraldine “Dobby” Joyce Josselyn passed away at St. Mary’s hospital from a massive stroke, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, December 9th, 2018. Geraldine Joyce Peterson was born July 29th, 1930, the last of five girls to John and Pett Peterson. The rural home where she was born still stands near Ironwood Springs, Stewartville.
Early in her life she acquired the nickname “Dobby” when she was into mischief and the name followed her all through her life. Dobby became a farmer’s wife two years after graduation from Rochester High School. She married Richard Josselyn on April 10th, 1950.
She and Richard had four children who survive her. Robert (Marie) of Mazeppa, Jean (Patrick) Hanson of Brooklyn Park, Jeffrey (Elaine) and Kathy (Alan) Flotterud both of Zumbrota. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Ashley, David (Kristina), Jenny (Tim), Melanie (Jack), Stephanie, Amy, Nick, Scott, Emma, Julia (Jon) and great granddaughters Gwen and Sera.
As well as several step grand and great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard, who died September 9, 2018, her parents, and four sisters: Ione Halverson, Pearl Sanders, Shirley Mercer, Johnabell Lindelien and nephew Rodney Halverson. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 13th, 2018 at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Rochester Chapel, 1624 37 ST.
N.W., Rochester, MN with Rev. Eric Westlake of Our Saviors Lutheran Church officiating. Friends may call from 5:00-7:00 pm Wednesday and one hour before the service on Thursday at the funeral home in Rochester.
