Mrs. Geraldine Evelyn (Bryant) Alsip, age 77, of Somerset, KY, formerly of Mt. Vernon, Livingston, and Brodhead, went to join her Heavenly Father on October 15, 2018, peacefully at her home surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born October 16, 1940 in Grey’s Knob, in Harlan County, KY.

She was a retired school teacher of Marion and Rockcastle County schools. She leaves behind three daughters: Trisha Bryant of Richmond, VA, Mary Alsip, and Lisa Alsip Bowling both of Somerset, KY; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one very special great-grandson Donovan Schneider Age 11; her brothers: Clarence Bryant and Cindy of Louisville, KY, and Kenneth Bryant and Myrna of Frankfort, KY; and one sister, Louise Martin of Louisville, KY. She was preceded in death by: two children: Catherine Alsip, and Walter Ray Alsip; her parents: Clarence Bryant and Bertie Evelyn Swain Bryant; her sisters: Wilma Jean Bryant and Lorella Carol Bryant; her grandson Jeremy Goodin; as well as many students who will always love and remember her, her best friend Janie Harper, a wonderful church family, and many friends.

Services for Geraldine will be Friday October 19, 2018 at Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals beginning with the visitation from 12pm-4pm, closing out the evening with music. Condolences can be made to the family at www.
