Gertrude’s Obituary Gertrude J. Miller, 90 of Rhinelander, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Gertrude was born on Sunday, April 29, 1928, in Mora, Minnesota the daughter of Francis and Irene (Gripentrog) Matson. Gertrude moved to Rhinelander in the 1940’s.

She was united in marriage on September 5, 1946 in Iron Mountain, Michigan to Eugene Blaszke. The couple managed the Flatley Oil Company for four years. Gertrude was later employed as a Machinist at Twist Drill, and then was employed for twelve years as a Hostess at Culvers.

She was united in marriage to Peter Miller Sr.. Gertrude enjoyed needlepoint, canning with her grandson, baking and cooking. She also enjoyed taking rides and traveling to see her grandchildren.

Gertrude was a member of Grace Four Square Church. Surviving are her children; Gloria Miller of Rhinelander, Diane (Tom) Leverance of Tomahawk, John Blaszke of Tomahawk, Heidi (Cash) Kaulum of Green Bay, daughter-in-law; Patricia Blaszke of Rhinelander, eleven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband; Eugene Blaszke, her second husband; Peter Miller, son; Theodore Blaszke, daughter; Lori Blaszke and one grandson; Kenneth Blaszke. The visitation for Gertrude will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Hildebrand Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. Memorial Service. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery.
