Obituary for Mrs. Gertrude Recore Nichols Gertrude Recore Nichols, 90, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh. Born in Chateaugay, NY, January 14, 1928, she was the daughter of Harold and Geraldine (Barnes) Cheyne. She is survived by her children, Donnie Recore and his wife Sharon of Ocala, Florida, Susan Miller of West Chazy, NY, Cindy Recore of Churubusco, NY, Deborah Patnode of Plattsburgh, NY; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Recore of Chateaugay, NY; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles Cheyne and his wife Anne; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and good friends Chuck and Adele Shonyo of Chateaugay.

She is predeceased by her parents, her first husband Francis Recore, her second husband Elmer Nichols, a son, Gary Recore, a daughter Joanne Recore and a son-in-law Wayne Miller. Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 9 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Thursday, May 10 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Todd Thibault officiating.

Burial will take place in Immaculate Heart Cemetery, Churubusco. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gertrude’s memory to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Mrs. Gertrude Recore Nichols please visit our Sympathy Store.
