(Giuseppe) Joe Scardina, 84 of Clarksburg, WV, Northview Community passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019 at his residence with family by his side. He was born May 9, 1934 in Clarksburg, son of the late (Salvatore Scordomaglia) Sam and Rose Mary Gigliotti Scardina. He is survived by his wife of fifty eight years, Nancy Casto Scardina whom he married on August 23, 1960 in Detroit, MI; one daughter, Faith Marie Lake Garrett and husband Dale Allen, Clarksburg, two sons, Sam Scardina and wife Pam, Cape Coral, FL, Julian Anthony “Tony” Scardina, Clarksburg, WV; ten grandchildren, Melissa Dawn Ewen, Julie Ann Carder and John Mike, Justin Michael Brady and Ashley, Shannon Leigh Morton and Shawn, Anna Marie Hebb and Daniel, Katie Elizabeth Gorman, Salvatore Anthony Scardina, Nicholas Antonio Scardina, Jacob Joseph Scardina, and Alexis Nicole Scardina; seventeen great grandchildren, Jason “Peanut”, Christian, Rebecca, Ethan, Morgan, Skyler, Kaden, Seth, Reanna, Emma, Khloe, Reginna, Chase, Michael, Brendan, Harlin, and Ileah; one brother, Patrick J Scardina and wife Margaret, Hammond, IN; one sister, Stella McCord, Clarksburg; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Dale Garrett on Feb. 1, 2014; great granddaughter, Madison Grace Brady on June 17, 2015; two brothers, Serafine Scardino and Tony Scardino; two sisters, Isabella Karnis, Mary Rose Moore. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Joe retired from the Department of Highways as Assistant Supervisor of Harrison County with over thirty nine years. He was a loyal fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Clarksburg. His hobbies were gardening, helping neighbors and friends with yard work and shoveling snow.

He was proud of his Italian heritage. He would setup his nativity scene in the yard for twenty six years and was proud of it. Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 4-8PM and Wednesday, March 20, 2019 from Noon-8PM with a Vigil Rite at 7:30PM.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held at Saint James Catholic Church on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 11:00 am with Father Patsy Wash as presider and Father William Anderson as co-presider. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and US Navy Honor Guard.
