Jack Warren Gaines Sr. 86 of Clarksburg passed away on Saturday, March 09, 2019 at the Louis A Johnson VA Medical Center. He was born June 26, 1932 in Clarksburg, son of the late Joe Willie and Alma Celeste Lamb Gaines. Jack served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

He worked for the United Union of Roofers. He was an avid WVU Mountaineer Fan and Pittsburgh Pirates and enjoyed watching most sports. He loved shooting pool and family outings.

Jack is survived by two sons, Jack Warren Gaines Jr and Cheryl Henderson, Timmy J Gaines and wife Amanda, all of Clarksburg, eight grandchildren, Connie Zoretic and Joe, Eva Sprouse and Josh, Jody Boyd and Derek, Chrissy Craven, , Chastity Gaines and Chelbi, Dayton Gaines, Jackson Gaines, Jessica Wright and Jared; fifteen great grandchildren, Ryan, Madison, Gabriel, Breanna, Mikenzei, Nikita, Thomas, Jeffrey, Abigail, Jordan, Cooper, Eli, Liliana, Lucas, and Olivia; one brother, Jerry Gaines and Ginger, Clarksburg; his cat, Helen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Gaines on November 6, 2010; two sons, Gary Lee Gaines and Jeffrey L Gaines; one granddaughter Heather Nicholas; siblings, Calvin Waller, Lloyd Waller, Charles Waller, Jimmy Gaines, Patty Kiner and Shirley Gaines. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 11, 2019 at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg/Nutter Fort, WV from 3-8pm.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 11:00AM from the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Sandy. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery, Pruntytown, WV, where military honors will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and US Navy Honor Guard.
