OBITUARY Gladys Brown Ottinger February 17, 1915 – October 11, 2018 Gladys Brown Ottinger, 103, of Long Creek Road, Parrottsville, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Life Care Center of Greeneville. She was a homemaker. She was an historian for many families in the Long Creek area of Cocke County.

Mrs. Ottinger was a member of Cedar Creek Free Will Baptist Church. She was a charter member of the Young at Hearts at St. James Lutheran Church. Survivors include a sister: Minnie Lee of Cypress, California; nieces and nephews: Brenda Olafsen, Gaynell Stowers, Roger Brown, John Brown, who were her caregivers; other nieces and nephews: Carol Bribiescas, Judy Musick, Alice Strater, Andrea Klink, and Arnold Ray Brown; several great nieces and great nephews; several great-great nieces and great-great nephews; and her many friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Roy B. Ottinger; parents: William Floyd and Stella Peters Brown; and three brothers: Jess Calvin Brown, Walter Preston Brown, and John A Brown, Sr. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Monday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Rick Parvin and Rev.

John Daughtery officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.

Brown Sr., Brother She also leaves several great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, friends and neighbors to cherish her memory.
