Obituary for Gladys Caroline Rose Stradling (Toepfer) Gladys Stradling of Hatboro, PA, formerly of Huntingdon Valley, PA, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018 at the age of 95. She was the wife of the late Lester J. Stradling. Born in Milwaukee, WI, Gladys was a lifelong lover of music.

She played the piano and organ. She sang in her church choir and performed in operettas and with her high school choir at Bayview High School in Milwaukee. She attended Milwaukee-Downer College.

Gladys moved to Philadelphia when she married in 1947. A homemaker, she was an excellent cook, baker, and seamstress. She was a former member of the Women’s Club of Huntingdon Valley.

She continued to sing in church choirs and directed the handbell choir at St. Paul’s Lutheran church in Doylestown, PA. She was also a founding member of the first Koinonia group at St. Paul’s. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Stradling Morby (Ed), her son Jim Stradling, her granddaughters Laura Morby Skuse and Kristen Morby, and two nieces and a nephew.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gladys’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the handbell choir at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA, 18901.
