Obituary for Gladys Gigi Legrand Rouyer Gladys “Gigi” Legrand Rouyer passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 taking her final breath held by her beloved family and surrounded by a wealth of love. Beloved wife of 35 years and high school sweetheart of Donald Rouyer, Sr. Mother of Heather Rouyer, Ashley Rouyer, and Donald Rouyer, Jr. (Mary). Daughter of the late Paul Georges Legrand and Donna Faye Smith Legrand.

Sister of Pierre Legrand (Karen), Jessica L. Harper (Darren), Michael Legrand, Benjamin Legrand (Anthony), and Elizabeth Smith. Granddaughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Pierre Leopold Legrand, Mrs. Gladys LeGrange Smith & Mr. Irving Smith, and Grandma Ruth. Daughter-in-law of Carolyn Held and the late Lt.

Col. Harry Joseph Rouyer, Jr. Survived by nieces and nephews, in particular Jeanne, William and Jaime Harper; as well as the family dog Chloe and grand-puppies, Henley, Mooshu, Cash and Macy. Age 54 years, a native of New Orleans, raised in Terrytown, LA and resident of Kenner, LA with plans to retire to their lake house in Picayune, MS.

Gigi graduated from River Oaks High School in 1982. She is known for her many years of parental volunteer service at St. Christopher School and eventually retiring from Dial One House of Doors/Miner. She loved caring for her children, doing arts and crafts, cooking, hosting family gatherings and always providing for others before herself.

The family sends a wealth of gratitude to Dr. Carter Davis and the staff of Ochsner Medical Center Jefferson Highway Campus, especially the Oncology Department, and CMICU family, as well as everyone who prayed and supported her and her family during this year long battle. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 1:30 PM. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
