Gladys “Louise” Wright Peacock, 79, of Phenix City, AL passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Piedmont Regional Medical Center in Columbus, GA Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm EST on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Rev. Donnie Lumpkin officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home. Ms. Peacock was born July 9, 1939 in Columbus, GA to the late Jesse Wright and Gladys Leonia Goodman Clifton. She had work with Swift Textiles in Columbus, GA and was retired.

She enjoyed engaging and visiting yard sales, and flea markets, always looking for bargains and special items of interest. She loved reading, and was a passionate fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide. She was a Baptist by faith.

She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Albert Clifton, who loved and raised her as his own from a very young age; a daughter, Sheila Tyson, and two brothers, Earl Burnett, and Ronnie Clifton. She is survived by two daughters, Billie Jean Hutto and husband Bruce of Phenix City, AL, and Debra Kimbrough and Husband Preston of Phenix City, AL, one sister, Brenda Baker of Phenix City, AL, and one brother, Harold Burnett of Phenix City, AL; (4) grandchildren, Adam Tyson, Nikki Storey (Daniel), William Bruce Hutto (Hollie), and Tyler Kimbrough, (8) great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many caring friends.
