Obituary for Glen “Dale” Tivis Ratliff City – Glen “Dale” Tivis, 75, of Pruitt City are scheduled for 2:00 Pm Monday January 7, 2019 at the Milo Baptist Church with his son in law, Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Rev.

Roger Sims will be assisting. Interment will follow at the Ratliff City Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Dale was born on Oct. 4, 1943 at Duncan to the late Mr. Alva Gordo “Trig” Tivis and Mrs. Jessie Faye (Morris) Tivis. He departed from this life on Thursday evening Jan.

3, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. Dale was raised at Tussy attending school at Pernell and Fox graduating from Fox High School in 1961. He then attended college for a shortwhile at Murray State in Tishomingo before returning to this area.

While spending his summer in Oklahoma City with his brothers, Dale worked for a chicken processing plant and from that point on never would eat chicken again. Dale and the former Ms. Linda Lea Fuller were united in marriage on Oct. 26, 1962 at Healdton.

They have shared many wonderful memories together during their 56 years of marriage. Together they built a thriving oilfield trucking company called “Dale’s Tank Service” of Pruitt City. During the initial beginning, Dale drove the trucks and Linda took care of the office.

Dale enjoyed working everyday, always arriving at the office before any one else. Dale also loved his cattle and liked farming and ranching. He was a man who worked hard for everything he had and always had a helping hand for anyone in need.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ratliff City. Those preceding him in death are his parents, a brother, Preston; a sister, Nancy Hammond and a granddaughter, Shytana Lea Bray. Survivors include his loving wife Linda of the home; daughter, Shelly Johnston and husband Mike; son, Cary Dale Tivis and wife Sonja, all of Ratliff City; sister, Barbara Tivis; brothers, Kenneth Tivis and Derrel Tivis,also all of Ratliff City; grandchildren, Tanya Stark and husband John, the late Shytana Bray and husband Steven, Chad Jones and wife Allyson, Rusty Jones and wife Dani and Hillary Tivis; great grandchildren, Braden and Brecken Stark, Cooper Bray, Crew, Jase and Kolby Jones; numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers are Nub Sullivan, Jon Griffin, Richard Butler, Terral Stephenson, Joe Mitchell and Jim Hoggard. Honorary Bearers are all the employees of Dale’s Tank Service Family visitation will be held from 4 to 6 pm Sunday at the funeral home in Ratliff City. Condolences may be sent online at www.
