Pleasant, Iowa, and Sandra (the late Franklin) Clingan of Fairfield, Iowa Glenda Arlene Wells, 83, left this world on December 6th to join our Lord in heaven. She was born in Libertyville, Iowa to young Evelyn and Glen Bonnett. Due to an unfortunate accident, she was never able to meet her biological father, but soon became the loving daughter of Edward Bonnett.
She was raised in Stockport, Iowa, along with her two sisters, Sandra and Beverly, and her brother Michael (now deceased). Glenda grew up in the Christian faith and used her faith to guide her in her everyday life. What a wonderful example she set for her family and all those who came near!
In 1953, after a two year courtship, she married a handsome airman named Donald Wells. Their very happy union brought four children into the world. Gloria Miller, Nancy Henley, Steve Wells and Teresa Scott.
They, in turn, gave her 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She made every one of her family know that they were special and loved by God and by her. No matter how far flung, she found the time to listen and counsel and selflessly adore all of them.
It is a true testament to her outstanding character and resilience that everyone in her presence felt valued and cherished, even as the limitations of age and infirmity took hold. Glenda extended her kindness to her church family at Crestwood Christian Church, friends, coworkers at Fireman’s Fund Insurance and strangers alike. She had a knack for knowing just what emotional needs were necessary at any moment and delivering the right comfort and support without hesitation.
It was her gift from God. In addition to being a stellar member of our family, Glenda tirelessly worked as a bookkeeper, school secretary, server, and a bond underwriting assistant. She taught Sunday school and was very active at Crestwood Christian Church for over 40 years.
Thousands have been the recipient of her faith in action. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Glenda Arlene Wells please visit our Sympathy Store. Upcoming Events Visitation , DEC 9.
