Glenn Martin Ross III, also known affectionately as “Buster” and “Homer”, 72, of Sykesville, died Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Levindale Nursing Home. Born September 23, 1946 in Mayfield, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Glenn Martin Ross, II and Dorothy Dean Copeland. He was the husband of Martina ‘Tina’ Louise Ross.

They had been married for 51 years. Glenn graduated from North Carroll High School in 1964. He then enlisted in the Merchant Marines.

He had also worked at Bethlehem Steel and in the family business Dean’s Restaurant in Hampstead. The entrepreneurial side of Glenn then took over. He was in auto sales.

He then started a water blasting contracting business called Hydro Blast of Md. He sold that business in 1990, took some time off to spend with his family, and then bought the Beverage Shop in Lisbon. In 1996 he and his wife opened Londontowne Liquors in Eldersburg.

They operated this until selling the business and retiring in 2008. Over the years, they have taken numerous cruises to different islands in the Caribbean, as well as trips to Spain and Mexico. Glenn enjoyed spending time with his family, watching Ravens football and Maryland Terps basketball and treasured his grandchildren.

Glenn also had a special love for dogs and had adopted numerous ones throughout his life. He loved them all very dearly. In addition to his wife, Glenn is survived by son Scott Glenn Ross, Sr. and partner Denise Harris, daughter Kimberly Greenwade and husband Kevin, sisters Susan Ross, Mary Jo Malone, Leslie Brooks and grandchildren Scott G. Ross, II, Haley, Hunter and Hayden Greenwade.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 10:30 AM at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, Maryland. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
