OBITUARY Goldie West July 24, 1927 – September 5, 2018 Goldie Combs West 91, of Bardstown, Louisville and Happy Kentucky passed away Wednesday September 5, 2018 at 8:30pm at Bardstown Nursing Home. Goldie was born to the late Taylor Combs and Ada Browning of Happy Kentucky and the oldest child of seven. Goldie’s husband of 47 years, Walter West precedes her in death along with daughters Connie, Patricia and Janet.

Goldie was a loving mother, grandmother of 17, great grandmother of 38 and great great grandmother of 11. She worked as a housewife, farmer, seamstress and caregiver for the elderly. Goldie was a faithful member of the Church of Christ since she was 12 years old and volunteered as a 4-H leader and school teacher.

Goldie is survived by her daughters Betty, Sandra, Linda, Darlene and Barbara, siblings Joyce and Matilda and many dear grandchildren. A funeral service to honor the life of Goldie will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 10am in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday, September 10, 2018 from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
