Obituary for Gordon Minor Shook Gordon Minor Shook, 83 year old resident of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, died August 22, 2018, at Brookdale Assisted Living, Fort Smith, Arkansas. Born October 30, 1934 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, he was the son of John Shook and Arminda Baker Shook. Gordon married Wanda Philpot on August 1, 1955, and they were lifetime residents of Siloam Springs except during Gordon’s military service in the Army during the Korean War.

He worked as a maintenance and shipping supervisor for Jet Stream in Siloam Springs and Sheffield Steel in Kansas City, Missouri. Gordon loved to fish and tinker with small engines and was an accomplished bluegrass and gospel musician. He was a former member and deacon of First Baptist Church, Siloam Springs and was currently a member of Second Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and three brothers. Survivors include sons Gordon Shook, Jr. and wife Donna of Frisco, Texas; and Walter Shook and wife Terri of Fayetteville, Arkansas; daughters Linda Moore and husband Ken of Houston, Arkansas, Elizabeth Gay Blair and husband Ron of Lavaca, Arkansas; brother Mack Shook of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; sisters, Annie Dunson of Rogers, Arkansas, and Ruth Cook and husband Tom of New Mexico; 7 grandchildren; Daniel Moore, Rebecka Hughes, Sam Moore, David Shook, Andy Moore, Kathryn Bunch and Robert Blair; 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Sunday, August 26, 2018, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Wasson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be sent to Second Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1289, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, 72761.
