Grace Toomsen November 01, 1924 – January 20, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Grace Toomsen, 94, of rural Geneva, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 24th at the Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Friday, January 25th, at the United Methodist Church in Ackley with burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Graduated from Hansell High School in 1943. On January 20, 1949, Grace married John Toomsen at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

She was a member of the Ackley United Methodist Church and the Iowa Falls Moose Lodge. Grace enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening, canning, cooking and her card club. Grace is survived by her children Kenneth (Susan) Toomsen of Ames, Dennis (Vicki) Toomsen of Renwick, Donna Toomsen of Bradford, James (Ellen) Toomsen of Geneva, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, sister Myrtle Hesse, six brothers Gerald, Gilbert, Louis, Harry, Carl “Pete” and Robert.
