Gracie Sue Walthall Spivey, 76, of Fountain Hill, died Friday, June 22, 2018. Mrs. Spivey was a native of Oak Grove, Louisiana; a resident of Fountain Hill for the past 11 years and a former resident of Dumas. She worked as a seamstress at the Hamburg Shirt Factory and she also worked for Bassett Furniture in Dumas and Emmerson Garment Factory in Star City.

She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church and a member and past president of the Women’s Business Club in Dumas. She and her husband were avid square dancers. She is preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, John P. Spivey; her parents, Toney and Annie Smith Walthall; a brother, Buster Walthall and a sister, Betty Marie Walthall.

She is survived by three daughters, Ronnette Goodman and husband, Greg, of Elk Grove, California, Stephanie Gavin, Grace Sawyer and husband, Hardy, all of Fountain Hill; two sons, Rick Brazier and wife, Theresa, of Fountain Hill and Robert Brazier and wife, Tish, of Wilton, California; a step-son, Rickey Spivey and wife, Donna, of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Johnny Walthall and wife, Judy, of Fairfield Bay and Eugene Walthall and wife, Deanie, of El Dorado; five sisters, Mary Davis and husband, Marvin, of Fountain Hill, Juanita Knight and husband, Bobby, of Hamburg, Susan Gifford and husband, Robert, of Fountain Hill, Nancy Coulter and husband, Roy, and Cindy Harris all of Hamburg; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 2 p.m., Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the Shiloh Baptist Church with Bro. Elvin McDill and Zan Amos officiating.

Burial will be in the Flat Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers are Rick Brazier, Robert Brazier, Hardy Sawyer, Mickey Gwin, Justin Gavin and Dewayne Bussell. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Monticello Dialysis, 774 Jordan Drive, Monticello, AR 71655. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
