Obituary for Grady L. Parker Grady Leon Parker, 82, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, April 13, 2018, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born March 13, 1936, in Cherokee County, SC, he was the son of the late George and Annie Ross Parker. The retired owner/operator of Ace Machine Shop, Mr. Parker was devoted to his Lord and church.

He was a member of Powell Presbyterian Church and a faithful choir member. He had a green thumb, a beautiful garden, loved to travel the country, and was also a loyal Atlanta Braves fan. The family expresses heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff at Spartanburg Regional Hospice, especially his home nurse, Paige Briggs.

Survivors include his children, Martha Swofford Hudgins (Keith) of Cherokee Springs, SC, Judy Swofford Cash (Larry) of Cannons Campground Community, and Johnny Swofford (Charlene) of Chesnee, SC; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a large number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Louise Thomas Parker (first married to the late John Swofford) and second wife, Evelyn Bennett Parker; four brothers; two sisters; and one great-grandson. Visitation will be 2:45-3:45 PM Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307 with funeral services following at 4:00 PM, conducted by The Rev.

Bruce Tjelta and The Rev. Buddy Robbins. Committal will be at the Chapel with private burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
