Mr. Green Sherrod, 75, of Swainsboro passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Pruitt Health of Swainsboro following an extended illness. Mr. Sherrod was born April 21, 1943 in Stillmore, Ga. to the late Oliver Sherrod, Sr. and Annie Mae Allcott Sherrod.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Samples Sherrod; brothers, Bud Sherrod, Oliver Sherrod Jr. and Billy Sherrod; sisters, Jeanette Boatright, Annie Ruth Oglesby and Margaret Brown; brother-in-law, Buddy Samples. Mr. Sherrod was a lifelong resident of Emanuel County. He loved fishing, babysitting, and watching old westerns.

Survivors include his daughter/caregiver, Kathy (Jesse) Brown of Twin City, sister-in-law/caregiver, JoAnn (George) Archer of Twin City; brother, James Earl Sherrod of Sillmore; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Funeral Services will be in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2018 with Reverends George Archer and James Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Old Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Chapman Funeral Home Pallbearers are Lamar Sherrod, Lee Sherrod, Wesley Kirkland, Billy Sherrod, Dale Brown, and James Ward. Honorary Pallbearers are Tal Willis, Buddy Frank Sherrod, and Tod Sherrod. Condolences may be expressed at www.
