Greg was born in Santa Monica, CA to William Morris from Cambridge, MA. and Mava Lee Peters, from Enid, Oklahoma. His brother Danny was born one year later.

They lived in Pacific Palisades and Topanga Canyon until the age of six. After Greg developed asthma, his family pulled up stakes and moved to Tucson, Arizona, where Greg completed all of his education—kindergarten through college attending the University of Arizona. Greg, along with his friend George, whom he met in the 7th grade, studied magic together, moving on to studying the bible together, which ultimately led Greg to study Philosophy at the U of A. Always pursuing his love for ideas, Greg branched out into areas of Objectivism, Skepticism, Atheism, Libertarian politics, and Social Commentary.

In addition, Greg was an accomplished Coin Magician, and member of the exclusive Magic Castle in Hollywood, CA. But his first true love was Music. The British Invasion, starting with The Beatles, and the California sound of the Beach Boys, especially Brian Wilson, captured his attention when he was a teenager and he never tired of their sounds.

His musical vocabulary was vast, but if you were to ask him who spoke to him in the strongest and deepest way, anyone in his life knew the answer was Jackson Browne. Greg spent his life listening to music with a critical ear, and sharing his reviews with music lovers for many years. After University, Greg moved to Los Angeles, where he worked in a bookstore in Hollywood.

Then he scored a coveted position at the infamous Tower Records on Sunset Strip, where every big name in music made their way in the 1970s. It was paradise for a lover of rock and roll. During his time at Tower, he met the love of his life Marci Bronson, who was about to start a 4-year doctoral program in Optometry.

They waited those 4 years to marry in Silverlake, CA on New Year’s Eve 1981, and had 36 years of true love together. By 1992, Greg was ready for a new adventure. He and Marci moved to San Francisco, in the heart of the City, and continued to live there until his passing.

He had adoring friends from Ireland to Texas to Washington, and New York. He had a strength of character that is not often seen, yet he exuded warmth, kindness, loyalty, and generosity to a fault. Greg was preceded in death by his mother Mava, father Bill, brother Danny, and sister-in-law Dana Bronson.

He is survived by is wife and soulmate of 41 years, Marci Morris, sister-in-law Lori Issler, brother-in-law Jay Issler, nephew Shaun Campbell, nieces Jessica Beseda and Emily Fannan, and grand-nephew Evan Campbell, and the Greene children Leora and Oliver, and the Morris clan Rhys, Bryn, and Owen. At Greg’s request, there will be a private green burial, and a Celebration of his Life at a time and place not yet determined.
