Janice Norton, May 18, 2018 — May 12, 2018

1941—2018 It is with heavy hearts to announce the passing of Janice Norton, May 12, 2018 at the age of 77. Born and raised in Napa, Jan was deeply rooted in more ways than one. Jan enthusiastically describes her love of family, the community and a rewarding career.

Outwardly, she appeared a stern, decisive, driven professional. Jan admitted, ‘I’m a ‘type-A’ personality, intense—and I say what I think. ’ Beyond the facade, however, she had a warm, thoughtful and intelligent demeanor.

Before joining the Superior Court, Jan managed several law offices. The varied experience Jan gained sparked an interest in the judicial system. In 1970 she began an entry-level job as a legal clerk.

Soon she was promoted to courtroom clerk. There she served several judges for 13 years. She is survived by her daughter Tami Norton-Franck; Son Mark Norton, daughter-in-law Stacy.

Grandchildren, Kyle, Bailie. Mathew and Isabella, her Sisters, Peggy Yates and Cindy, Nieces Karen Verling and Kim Perrotti and Family along with Cousins and her very special friends who helped and encouraged her along the way. Jan is preceded into rest by her Husband Jim Norton and Daughter Lori Norton.

A Grave side service will be held at 10:30am Tuesday May 22, 2018, Tulocay Cemetery, Napa Ca 94558. Officiated by our dear friend, Scotty Bassham. Immediately following the grave side service there will be a reception for family and friends held at Jan’s home in Napa.
