Gregory Allan (Hill) Vizina, passed away on June 27, 2018. He was born September 18, 1991. Gregory was known for his big heart, beautiful smile, and his ability to make everyone laugh.

Gregory enjoyed snowboarding, motorcycling, and traveling. Through his short life he had visited almost every U.S. State and 23 countries. He was known to wear his Michigan hat proudly everywhere he went.

Every evening he would set it next to his grandpa “Papa” Vizina’s hat on the mantel to honor him. Being born and raised in Indian River, he attended Inland Lakes School since pre-school and graduated in 2009. During that time he played t-ball, soccer, track and field, belonged to the Boy Scouts, but best of all his beloved sport of football.

He made many life long friends that he held near and dear; Lucas Doherty, Justin Flowers, Becky Rotter, Drew Hanel, and Josh West just to name a few of the very many. One month after Greg graduated high school he joined the United States Air Force at 17 years old. He made the rank of Senior Airman with the Tactical Air Control Party while stationed at Vilsick, Germany.

He received a combat action badge during Operation Enduring Freedom while in Afghanistan. He also received an Air Force Organizational Excellence award, medals for Army Commendation, Air Force good conduct and marksmanship, and completed the Army Airborne Course. When he completed his term with the military he used his GI Bill to attend North Central Michigan College and dual enrolled at Charlotte Piedmont Community College earning his Associates Degree while making the President’s List.

He was currently enrolled to finish his Bachelors of Business at the University of North Carolina with only two semesters left to complete. Gregory is survived by his parents, Stacey Hess and Daniel Vizina, stepmother Kristine Vizina and stepfather Rex Veitch Jr., girlfriend Jessica Wissinger, brother Duane Vizina, stepsisters Amber Veitch, and Gabriel Adamcyzk, stepbrothers Rex Alan Veitch, Jason Veitch and Noel Adamczyk, grandparents Oliver (Pam) Hill and Kathleen Hill, Godson Isaac Hill-Pfeffer, Godparents Gary and Faye Vizina, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents Duane and Grace Vizina, and his near and dear uncle John Hill.

Services for Greg will be held at the Lintz Funeral Home on Friday, July 6, 2018. Visitation will be held from 2-3pm with a memorial service at 3pm. Burial with full military honors will take place at St. Monica’s Cemetery in Afton immediately following.
