BLACK, GREGORY L. 54 OF HOMER CITY, PA passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018 as the result of a vehicle accident in Crawford County, Pa. Gregory was born on January 9, 1964 in Indiana, PA to Janice (McAdoo) Murphy and the late John Black Sr. Greg enjoyed hunting, fishing and dirt track car races. He was a former truck driver.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and he had attended the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Homer City, Pa. Greg is survived by his wife, Tammy (Capelle) Black, Homer City, PA; daughters, Shawna Hastings and husband Daniel, Roanoke, VA; Ashley Fairbanks, Brush Valley, PA; Chelsea Capelle and Fiance Damon Shanner, Coral, PA; Amanda Capelle and fiance Nicholas Short, Lucerne Mines, PA; brother, John Black, Indiana, PA; sister Beth Ann Lawson and husband Matthew, Indiana, PA; sister, Stacie Sleasman and husband Joseph, Blairsville, PA; brother, Jeff Black, Homer City, PA; eight grandchildren Morgan, Brayden, Evrik, Conner, Noah, Rilyn, Lily and Shalyn; and Mother and Father in-law, Catherine and Butch Elliott, Homer City, PA. Greg was preceded in death by his father, John Black Sr.; his grandmother, Elsie McAdoo; and an aunt, Lydia Rothrock.

Visitation will be held at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., Blairsville, PA on Thursday, November 8 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM, the time of the service. Pastor John Ditter will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
