THOMAS, LILA MAE, 87 OF BLAIRSVILLE, PA passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital, Latrobe, PA. She was born May 9, 1931 Socialville, PA, the daughter of the late Vernon Forsha and Helen (Bennett) Forsha. Lila was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Blairsville were she was a bell ringer and sang in the choir for many years.

She was the last president for WSCS and the first President of the United Methodist Women. She was also a Sunday school teacher for 55 years. Lila was a member of the Rebecca Circle and very active in all Church activities and held all positions in the Church.

She was the 3rd woman on the administrative board at Church. Lila was a past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star and served as a Judge of elections for 32 years in the 1st Ward of Blairsville, volunteered for the American Red Cross and volunteered for 35 years with Girl Scouts. She was also on the District Chair for 25 years for the March of Dimes.

Lila loved playing the organ. She is survived by her daughter, Linda F. McRorie & husband, John, Blairsville, PA and granddaughter, Sgt. Jessica M. McRorie, NYPD, NY.

She was preceded in death by husband, Harold A. “Hap” Thomas in 2016, daughter, Marion Louise Reda and sister, Carol Cordi. The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., Blairsville, PA on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Order of Eastern Star will conduct services Friday evening at 6pm in the Funeral Home.

Additional visitation will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Blairsville on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 10-11 AM, the time of the funeral service. Rev. Brett Dinger will officiate.

Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 50 S. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA 15717.
