OBITUARY Gregory Timothy Discon April 30, 1966 – January 8, 2019 Gregory Timothy Discon, 52, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 after he sustained injuries from a car accident in Mandeville, Louisiana. “Greg” was born on April 30, 1966 in New Orleans, Louisiana to his beloved parents, Nancy Lee Massa Discon and John Gerard Discon, who he now joins in Heaven. Greg attended Jesuit High School of New Orleans and went on to graduate college from Loyola University New Orleans with a bachelor’s degree in finance.

He then graduated from Mississippi College School of Law. Greg worked alongside his father, John Gerard, and brothers, Thomas Massa and Scott Greaves Joseph and then went on to work at other firms in the New Orleans area. Greg loved his family and friends, his chocolate labs, Snickers and Junior, boating on Lake Ponchartrain, watching LSU and Saints football, and listening to music by his favorite bands, Depeche Mode and The Cure.

Although Greg grew up in New Orleans, he treasured the many summers he spent with his family and friends at “the camp” on the Northshore of Lake Ponchartrain. Greg was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, David Patrick. He is survived by his sister, Lynne Ann; his brothers, John Gerard, Jr., Thomas Massa, Michael Casey, and Scott Greaves Joseph; his nieces and nephews, Molly Malloy Jackson, Caroline Malloy Schwartz, John Gerard Discon, III, Tara Discon Thomas, Natalie Theresa Discon, David Lawrence Discon, Charlotte Discon Strief, Megan Kathleen Discon, and Marissa Lee Discon; his great nieces and nephews, John Gerard Discon, IV, Connor James Discon, Brady Joseph Discon, Myah Michelle Discon, Laurel Lee Jackson, Anna Claire Jackson, John Sanders Schwartz, III, Madelyn Grace Schwartz, Kathryn Leigh Thomas, Luke Bennett Thomas, and Rhey Thomas Strief.

He was a dear brother-in-law to Deborah McCracken Discon and Charles Scott Williams. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home at 5100 Ponchartrain Boulevard, New Orleans, Louisiana 70124. A mass will follow in the chapel of Lake Lawn at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made in his honor to The Northshore Humane Society.
