Obituary for Michael C. Smith Michael C. Smith passed away peacefully on January 6, 2019 at the age of 64 years. Beloved husband of Anna Riester Smith. Father of Shawn M. Smith (Meredith).

Grandfather of Luke Henry Michael Smith. Brother of Barbara Messner (Hugh) and Gwynette Goodman (Jim). Son of the late Merlin and Gwynette Smith.

Also survived by other loving relatives and friends. Michael served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard a P-3 Orion as a member of the VP-94 Crawfishers Squadron. Serving for 12 years, he was based out of the NAS JRB in Belle Chasse and served all over the world including the Naval Research Laboratory and Operation Magnet.

He later worked for many years in sales at Hydradyne Hydraulics, LLC where he was a Charter Member of the President’s Club. He was passionate about coastal conservation and was a member of the Coastal Conservation Association. Michael was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish and being out on the water.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy. , Harvey, LA on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 9am to 2pm. Services will follow.
