OBITUARY Grose Andrew “G.A.” Bounds February 17, 1926 – October 4, 2018 Grose Andrew “G.A.” Bounds, 92, passed from this life Thursday, October 4, 2018, at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, Jackson. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00am, Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Celebration of Life Services will follow at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

G.A. was born February 17, 1926, in Philadelphia, Mississippi, a son of the late William Leslie Bounds and Lucy Sharp Bounds. A gifted carpenter, G.A. worked for several years as a self-employed contractor. As member of Liberty Baptist Church in Flowood, he and his sons were instrumental in the construction of the current church building.

G.A. was a U.S. Army veteran, having served our country during WWII. His hobbies included fishing and hunting. Honesty and integrity were important to G.A., and he will best be remembered for these honorable traits.

He was the true epitome of the phrase, “when he tells you something, you can take it to the bank”. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Lois Bounds and Bertha Bounds; and sons, Dwight Andrew Bounds and Kenneth Ray Bounds. Survivors include son, Paul Bounds and wife Debra Bounds; daughter, Lucille Shedd and husband John W. Shedd; brothers, Martin Bounds and Robert Bounds; sisters, Velma Wilson and Motha Jayroe; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
