Gussie Cleare, July 24, 1932 — December 19, 2018

Obituary for Gussie Cleare Mrs. Gussie Cleare was born in Elberton Georgia to the late Mr. and Mrs. Erskin and Georgia Belle Tate on July 24, 1932. Mrs. made her transition into eternal life on Wednesday December 19, 2018. She was proceeded in death by her Brothers Roy Tate and Sammie Neal Tate, and her sister Ethelrene Tate Blackwell.

Mrs. Cleare was raised in a Christian home and attended Tate’s Grove Baptist church until she graduated from Tate’s Grove High school. All of her life she loved and outdoors and often spent her days fishing at Lake Russell and walking in the parks wherever she lived. She moved to Greenville South Carolina with three of her closet friends and began her career in the medical field.

While living in Greenville, she earned her nursing degree and worked as a LPN for four years. She met and fell in love with her husband of 63 years Mr. Alfonso Cleare shortly after finishing nursing school. The young couple married and moved to Philadelphia Pennsylvania where she worked at Philadelphia Baptist Nursing Home for 40 years until she retired in 1999.

Gussie loved to go to major league Baseball Park to watch the Phillies, but her favorite baseball team was the Los Angeles Dodgers. She was a faithful member of 2nd Baptist Church in Moorestown New Jersey. The couple lived in retirement for over 20 years in Mt Laurel New Jersey before moving back to Gainesville Georgia in 2000.

Once in Gainesville, Mrs. Cleare joined Antioch Baptist church and remained a faithful member serving on the usher board and participating in the Silver Saints on a regular basis. Mrs. Gussie Cleare will be forever remembered by her husband Alfonso Cleare, her brother Roe C (Louise) Tate, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives church members and friends.
