Obituary for Gwindolene Latimer Gwindolene Latimer, known to her friends as Gwin and GiGi to her grands, 91, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018. Gwin was born to Dewey and Irene(Cox) Sandusky on November 10, 1926. Gwin went to Merkel schools and graduated from Merkel High.

She played basketball and loved being in plays. She attended Draughon’s Business College. She moved to Arizona to work for her pharmacist Aunt Oralie and Uncle Jimmy Hines.

She came back to Merkel and married the love of her life, Donald Latimer, on December 23rd, 1945. Gwin became a farmer’s wife and lived in Merkel. They moved to Merced, California where Don and Gwin raised their two daughters, Linda and Marilyn.

They moved to Arizona for ranching and back to Texas to Farm. Gwin was a good wife, mother and GiGi who taught us to be the girls we grew to be. She had a saying “This world and one more”.

Well, Mom, you made your one more. Go with God! Gwin is survived by her two daughters Linda (Steve) Jenkins and Marilyn Tittle; sister-in-law Rose Putman; grand-daughters Ginna Faulkner, Abby Faulkner, Whitney du Menil(David), Holly Tittle and Jennifer Brawley; four great grandchildren Savannah, Reagan, Adeline du Menil and Mason Brawley.

She also leaves behind many loved nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; Son-in-Law, Monty Tittle and brothers Elmer Lee and J.D. Sandusky. The family would like to thank Hendrick Hospice and the staff of Northern Oaks that cared for and loved our mother.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Friday, August 17, 2018 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel under the direction of Starbuck Funeral Home.
