Harold Lester Bynum, 75 of Hurst, Texas passed away Monday, May 6, 2019 in LaPorte, IN. He was born on October 7, 1943 in Gary, Indiana to Lemmie J. and Flossie (Jones) Bynum. Lester was employed by American Home Foods for over 35 years and retired from the plant in Fort Worth, Texas in 1999.

He was a supervisor. Lester was ordained as a Deacon at First Baptist Church Kingsford Heights and continued his service as a Deacon with St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Euless, Texas. Additionally, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge #303 and served his country in the United State Air Force.

On August 8, 1981, Lester married to Alma Raye (Dunlap) Bynum who survives. Harold leaves behind his wife; a son, Larry Bynum of Hurst, Texas; a daughter, Belinda Bynum of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; granddaughters, Lucinda & LaVana Bynum; grandson, Gage Bynum; great grandson, Brylan Scott; play-daughter, Renee Moore; and play-granddaughter, Brianna Jones; and a sister, Bernice Thomas. He was also loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Verdella Parker, Zelma Booker, Lemmie J. Bynum Jr., Theodosia Wilborin, Alonza Bynum, Glenn Bynum, Samuel Bynum, and Barbara Howard. A special memorial service will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church, 2101 Chatfield Road, Kingsford Heights, Indiana with Reverend Wilborn officiating. Funeral services and burial in Fort Worth, Texas will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, La Porte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 3324 House Anderson Road, Euless, Texas 76040.
