Harriett K. (Hedy) Schlessman, 101, of Monroeville passed away Friday May 10, 2019 after an extraordinary life. Harriett was born January 23, 1918, to the late William A. and Leona A. (Rendle) Schlessman. She graduated from Monroeville High School and was a member of the last graduating class before the ‘new’ high school opened in 1936.

She was a lifelong farmer and a retiree from General Motors. She was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, 9416 S.R. 99, Monroeville, Ohio 44847 and St. John’s Evangelical Church, 106 Scheid Road, Sandusky, Ohio 44870. Harriett is survived by nephews, Rod and Paul; a great-niece and three great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Wilda Schlessman, and one brother, William Schlessman. Friends may call Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM at St John Lutheran Church, Groton Township, 9416 S.R. 99. Pastor Neuberger will officiate.

Burial will follow in North Monroeville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to either of Hedy’s churches or to the donor’s favorite charity. Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville is entrusted with arrangements.
