HARRY EUGENE KRIGBAUM Harry E. Krigbaum, 89, of Quincy, passed away at 7:35 a.m. Wednesday (February 13, 2019) at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy. Born July 3, 1929 in Hannibal, Missouri, Harry was the son of Harry and Mabel Dirks Krigbaum. He married Carol Jarman on March 4, 1951 in Monroe City, Missouri.

She survives. Mr. Krigbaum served his country in the United States Marine Corps. An avid outdoorsman, Harry enjoyed boating, canoeing, collecting postcards, flying airplanes and drag racing Volkswagens.

In 1965, Harry was one of the first to build dune buggies in the Quincy and surrounding area. Harry had a successful career as a mechanic and owned and operated a Volkswagen repair shop for many years until his retirement. He later was involved in various other businesses until his second retirement.

Survivors include his wife Carol; a daughter, Teri Sue Badgley (Bob) of Barry, IL; a son, Larry Krigbaum (Daelene) of Lafayette, IN; two grandchildren, Joshua Krigbaum of Quincy and Tera Schultz of Edwardsville, IL; four great grandchildren, Mason Schultz, Keegan Schultz, Jeffery Barber and Elizabeth Barber; two brothers, Bill Krigbaum (Marge) of Unionville, MO and Ronald “Butch” Krigbaum (Connie) of Monroe City, MO; two sisters, Ruth Seelow (Floyd) of Paris, MO and Sally Polc (David) of Hannibal, MO; and many loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Krigbaum was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Julie Krigbaum; and a sister, Margie Riley. Cremation arrangements are in the care of the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

Private memorial services with Military Honors will be held with his grandson, Pastor Joshua Krigbaum officiating. Inurnment will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Monroe City, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Childrens Hospital or the Bethlehem Cemetery Association.
